del Río

Borja del Río is a New York City-based musician whose sound brings together theatrical rock, avant-garde pop, classical elements, and analog electronics, shaped by distorted vocals and a new wave sensibility.

His work spans music and performance. With his studies at The Juilliard School, as a composer, he has scored short films screened at festivals in New York City, Copenhagen, Paris, Toronto, and Mexico City. He has also appeared in music videos by Latin artists including J Balvin, Tainy, and Young Miko, as well as the London-based group Worldpeace DMT.

In 2026, del Río introduces his first solo release, Singles, a two-track EP featuring “Piano Improv. Take Two” and “Ms. Nature”. From sounds between downtown and uptown music from NYC, the tracks explore human desperation, existential dread, spiritual yearning, transcendence and collective tragedy. Del Río uses music as theater by creating a sonic world, and performing within it. Recorded at the historic Power Station studios in New York, the project was developed in collaboration with Grammy winner sound engineer and producer Omisha Chaitanya.
